Kicks, a variety dance band from San Diego, has had tremendous success since its inception in 1981. Playing a variety of music spanning 6 decades has always been a key to their success. Kicks started in the early 80's working full time in the clubs of Southern California. In the mid-80's Kicks branched out into the casino circuit in Nevada and also corporate events for some of the largest companies in the world. Kicks has had a large gain in popularity over the last decade. Many got to know this dynamic group from its run at the San Diego Marriott & Marina. From 1994 to 2001, when not performing private functions, Kicks was the house band at the Marriott. Kicks is a multi-sized group from 4 to 9 pieces. The full-size group features 2 female vocalists and a live horn section. Also unprecedented is that 5 out of the 9 members are outstanding "lead" vocalists, which makes for incredibly great harmonies.
